to tastemarinara sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir well until the cheeses are fully incorporated and evenly mixed.
In another small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
Carefully pour the egg mixture into the bowl with the cheese mix. Use a spatula or spoon to mix everything together until a sticky, cohesive mixture forms.
With clean hands, scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the cheese mixture and roll them into balls. Aim for about 12-15 bites, ensuring they are evenly sized for consistent cooking.
Roll each cheese ball in breadcrumbs, making sure they are fully coated on all sides. Place the coated bites onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they have a bit of space between them.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bites are golden brown and crispy on the outside. Keep an eye on them to avoid overbaking.
Once baked, remove the tray from the oven and allow the bites to cool slightly for about 2-3 minutes. Before serving, sprinkle the bites with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of color and flavor.
Serve the warm cheesy bites with a side of marinara sauce for dipping, elevating the dish with a delicious contrast of flavors.
Notes
Arrange the cheesy bites on a serving platter and place a small bowl of marinara sauce in the center for dipping.
