1/2cupicing (included in the cinnamon roll dough package or homemade)
Instructions
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven is heating, prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it lightly with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the diced apples. Drizzle the lemon juice over the apples, then sprinkle in the ground cinnamon, packed brown sugar, and nutmeg. Toss the mixture gently until the apples are thoroughly coated in the sweet spices. If desired, fold in the chopped pecans and raisins to add extra texture and flavor.
Open the package of cinnamon roll dough and carefully separate each roll. Using a sharp knife, cut each roll into quarters, creating bite-sized pieces.
Spread half of the cinnamon roll pieces evenly across the bottom of the greased baking dish, forming the first layer.
Spoon the luscious apple mixture over the first layer of cinnamon rolls, spreading it out evenly to cover as much surface area as possible.
Place the remaining cinnamon roll pieces on top of the apple layer, ensuring an even distribution to cover the apples completely.
Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops of the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and the filling is bubbling slightly. Keep an eye on it as ovens may vary in temperature.
Once the bake is finished, remove it from the oven and immediately drizzle the icing provided with the cinnamon roll dough over the warm bake. Allow the icing to melt and seep into the crevices for added sweetness.
Let the Apple Cinnamon Roll Bake cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together beautifully.
Notes
Serve warm with ice cream or powdered sugar for an indulgent touch.
